Built for jail networks — one console, every facility

Every call home,
supervised end to end.

Approved contacts, scheduled call turns, metered minutes and recorded, monitorable lines — the whole path a call takes inside a jail. One console runs a single facility or every jail on the network, and reports them as one.

The platform

One console for every part of the call

Most facilities run this as three disconnected things: a register of who may ring whom, a phone, and a drawer of recordings nobody can search. Connecto covers the whole path in one system — from the number a prisoner is allowed to dial, to the minute it is billed, to the recording an officer plays back six months later.

Call turn scheduling

Prisoners join a queue instead of a crowd. Turns are allotted, made visible only when they fall due, and rolled forward automatically when a slot goes unused.

Call turn manager · Auto turn scheduler

Approved contact profiles

Every number is verified and attached to a prisoner before it can be dialled. Nothing outside the approved profile connects, so a call cannot quietly reach a new party.

Call profiles · Prisoner records

Wall-mounted call terminals

Portrait touch panels run a stripped dialer with no browser, no keyboard and no way out of the app. Sign-in routes to it automatically when the screen is mounted portrait.

Kiosk station · Kiosk dialer

Live activity board

One board for the whole network — which booths are busy, which officers are signed in, what happened in the last minute. Presence and heartbeat, so it shows who is actually there rather than who was rostered.

Monitor · Action centre

Recordings and call records

Every call is recorded and streamed back inside the console — no file hunting, no export step — searchable by prisoner, number, booth or date.

Call records · Audio streaming

Wallet and per-minute billing

Each prisoner account carries a balance. Minutes are deducted as they are spoken, and the line closes cleanly when the balance or the call ceiling is reached.

Recharge · Billing

Prisoner records and reports

Photographs, documents, calling history and reports sit against the prisoner record, so the person and their call history are one file rather than two systems that disagree.

Prisoner history · Reports

Roles and access control

What an officer can open is decided by role, down to the individual navigation entry. A booth operator, a jailer and a system administrator see three different consoles.

User management · Navigation access

Every jail, added up

Each facility keeps its own telephony account, numbers and booths — and the console totals them. Register fifteen jails and the dashboard reports the fifteen as one set of figures, with any single site openable underneath it.

Cloud accounts · Licensing

Live supervision & AI

Be on the call without being on the call

One control room may be watching four booths or four hundred across fifteen jails. Connecto gives the officers doing it the three moves a modern contact centre takes for granted — listen, whisper, break in — and turns the calls nobody had time to listen to into text somebody can actually search.

Silent monitoring

An officer listens to a call in progress with no tone, no notice and no trace on either side. The prisoner and the family hear an ordinary conversation.

Booth monitoring · Presence board

Whisper to the officer

Coach the booth officer mid-call — heard by them and nobody else. The call carries on untouched while the instruction lands.

Supervisor console

Barge in, or end it

Step into the conversation as a third voice the second something crosses a line — or drop the call outright, from the same screen, without walking to the booth.

Supervisor console

Live transcription

Speech becomes text while the call is still running. One supervisor covering fifteen jails can read what there was never enough staff to sit and listen to.

Supervisor console · Call records

Searchable transcripts

Each transcript is stored as text against its call record. Search one word across a month of calls instead of scrubbing through a month of audio.

Call records

Recording control mid-call

Start or hold recording from the live screen — for the privileged legal call that must not be recorded, and for the one that abruptly must be.

Call handler · Call records

All of it runs on Connecto's own carrier layer. There is no extra hardware to buy, nothing for the jail's IT to host, and nothing to install on the booth machines — supervision works from any browser an authorised officer signs in from.

How it works

Four steps from request to recording

The same sequence every time, whether the facility runs four booths or forty. Nothing in it depends on an officer remembering a rule.

Enrol and approve

The prisoner is registered and their family numbers are verified and attached to a calling profile. Only those numbers will ever be dialled from their account.

Allot a turn

Turns are scheduled — by hand or by the automatic scheduler — inside the calling windows the facility has set. A turn becomes visible at the terminal only when it is due.

Place the call

At the booth or wall terminal the prisoner picks an approved contact. The gateway places the call over the carrier and meters the minutes against the wallet as they run.

Review and account

Recording, duration, cost and every click that produced them land in the records the moment the call ends — ready for a report or an inspection, with nothing to reconstruct.

Security & control

Built to survive an inspection

A calling system inside a jail is a security system first and a convenience second. Connecto is built so that every answer an inspection asks for already exists — recorded at the time, by the system, without anyone having to reconstruct it afterwards.

Contact is a rehabilitation measure, and the evidence is that prisoners who keep in touch with family do better on release. The controls below are what make that contact grantable without loosening anything.

  • Encrypted call media Voice rides DTLS-SRTP between the terminal and the carrier. There is no unencrypted leg on the facility network.
  • AES-256 and SHA-256 Application secrets are held under 256-bit AES; credentials are stored as hashes and never in recoverable form.
  • A complete audit trail Not only transactions. Every click in the console is written with the user, the terminal and the timestamp behind it.
  • Enforced session control Idle sessions expire, terminals report a heartbeat, and a station that stops reporting stops being trusted.
  • Limits that actually hold Call ceilings, calling windows and balance limits are enforced where the call is placed, not merely suggested in the interface.

Who uses it

Four desks, one system

Each role sees only the screen its work needs. That is a security property as much as a usability one.

Jail administration

Policy, calling windows, ceilings and licensing for the whole facility — plus the reports head office asks for.

Booth officers

A short working screen: who is due, who is on a call now, and the authority to end one.

Control room

Live monitoring, presence and the action centre — what is happening across every booth in every facility, right now.

Prisoners

A touch terminal showing their turn, their balance and their approved contacts. Nothing else is reachable from it.

Connecto Prime

The command centre, in your pocket

Connecto Prime is the companion app for Android and iOS — and it is not a cut-down viewer. A superintendent can allot a call turn, play back a recording, top up a wallet and change who is allowed to do what, from the corridor, from a meeting, or from home at eleven at night.

Android iOS Same sign-in, same roles

Turns, from anywhere

Allot, search and filter call turns without walking back to a desk.

Recordings on the phone

Open a call record and play the recording in the app, not a download folder.

Wallets and recharges

Top up an account, and see every transaction that has run against it.

Access in your hand

Grant or revoke what an officer can reach, the moment a posting changes.

Carrier-grade voice, already wired in

Connecto's voice layer runs on TeleCMI cloud telephony — carrier interconnect, number provisioning, call APIs and the supervision and speech-to-text services behind the section above. A facility never runs telecom infrastructure of its own, and never negotiates with a carrier to add a booth.
